is the password manager we recommend. It is free and open-source, and makes auto-generating random passwords and auto-filling them a breeze! Let's get started.
- Make an account on their site . Take extreme care to memorize this one password. It is the only password you ever need to remember again.
- Install the Bitwarden extension for whichever browser(s) you use, following their instructions .
- Finally, install the Bitwarden app for your iOS or Android device by following their instructions .
When creating new accounts, use the Bitwarden password generator to autogenerate a password for you. It will be gibberish, but remember--you do not have to memorize these passwords; Bitwarden will auto-fill it for you.
Additionally, if you are a student or anyone else using Bitwarden for personal use, please use your personal email address when creating your account. This will ensure there are no issues accessing passwords and Reed email addresses after leaving or graduating. However, if you are staff or faculty on campus using Bitwarden for Reed work, please use your Reed email address when setting up your account.
